Dygall

Agrobacterium radiobacter (formerly known as Agrobacterium tumefaciens) is a type of soil-borne bacterium that is commonly used in biotechnology for genetic engineering of plants. However, it can also cause crown gall disease in many plant species, including roses, which can result in reduced plant growth and yield.

Daygall is a commercial formulation of A. radiobacter strain K34/KL026 that is marketed as a biological control agent for the prevention and control of crown gall disease in plants. The product is applied as a soil drench or dip during propagation to colonize the root system and provide long-lasting protection against the pathogen.

Studies have shown that Daygall can effectively reduce the incidence and severity of crown gall disease in roses during propagation. In one study, application of Daygall at a concentration of 10^8 CFU/mL resulted in a 70% reduction in gall formation compared to untreated control plants. Additionally, Daygall-treated plants showed increased plant height and root dry weight, indicating improved plant growth.
